refitting rear roof - removing old glue how?

I now have to refit the rear roof material to the hoop - I have removed the glue from the hoop but what is the best method to remove from the material. This had been renewed by the previous owner and is in very good condition.

In the end I opted for 80 grit and a sharp Stanley blade to take most of it off.

Now installed .... now I can see the window is well marked from storage, but certainly serviceable.

The off-side stiffening arm operates with a reasonable force but I cannot get the near-side one to get into the locked position



I'm rushing to complete it as going to Spa next week

I seem to remember seeing a post in the past about adjustable over-centre roof bars ...... anyone know?
