Hello everyone I've been on hiatus, the s1 has fought me every step of the way, but after a break and then a spell of renewed enthusiasm it's starting to come together, new outriggers rear disk brake conversion and lsd fitted, still plenty to do but the body's back on engine runs. just a bit of fettling before a crafty pre mot test drive, quick question I know it's been asked before but anyone recommend a replacement oil pressure sender? used the search function and the recommended ebay item (think it was hose fittings uk???) is nearly a grand! Also I bought a sump drain valve anyone used one I got sick of rounding the bolt off.

I've got a couple of spare sump plugs but thought I would have a go with the valve it sticks out horizontal so hoping it won't be a problem

I got a couple of sump plugs that's easy to replace, it's the minefield of oil pressure sender units I'm struggling with

I've ordered the one from McGill Motorsport,it is from a uk seller, shows the same pressure range as the item from hose fittings uk, in stock and £10:75 delivered I've got fluctuating oil pressure so I hope it cures it, not worried about an accurate reading just a consistent one. I will update when its fitted for future reference.
I have fitted the oil drain valve it does stick out horizontally, it may be slightly lower than the bottom of the sump 5mm max, I am aware of the risk of grounding and consider carefully if it stays on!

Merry Christmas everyone

Just to update the sender from McGill Motorsport works fine, need to make up an earth wire but no problem, just be aware when I took mine out the thread adapter came with it if that happens you need to take it off the old sender and reuse it.

The other terminal has the earth symbol on but also 'wk' which apparently is for a warning light so I don't know if you swap terminals if your using it for a warning light? Point is I've got 'g' going to the gauge and it works, not sure how accurate it is but as long as its consistent I'm happy.
