Sticky Air flow sensor

After a week of fast idle, I've diagnosed the problem as a sticky air mass sensor. If you push the flap, it sometimes gets stuck part closed on return. Anyone had a similar problem, and what's the best solution? The unit seems to be sealed and I can't seem to find replacements anywhere.

Cheers - I've got the plastic top off and the resistance track all seems to be in order & measures out ok, the stickiness seems to be aluminium oxide around the vane - I've removed the grime with carb cleaner. Time to remove the bottom aluminium panel....
