MX5 Mirrors

Have had the MX5 mirrors fitted for a couple of years now but no matter what I do to the little grub screw the mirrors won't stay tight so when I get above 60 (ish!) they fold back in. Anybody got any suggestions?

I think it's the latter as they don't tighten any further.

Thanks for the suggestions-think the mirrors are going to have to come off for closer inspection!
