Accelerator cable s3

The inner throttle cable snapped today, fortunately the car was in the garage, the outer cable housing is fine.. Are replacements available or do we revert to adapting a universal cable ?

I've bodged the cable up for the time being, but I've found a supplier who has a good second hand one. He says as long as it's a Ford 2.9 EFI engine and a ford pedal box, then it will fit. It certainly looks similar. Anyone know if the S3 has a Ford pedal box ?

I've just fitted a good second hand throttle cable from a Granada Scorpio 2.9EFI. It fitted real easy.
The cable is from an automatic car but doesn't seem to have any adjustment in it ?
It's a tad fast on tick over, and I would like to wind it down a bit, has anyone fitted one of these ?
