Well, as you know i had to have a body off on my 'S' the outriggers had corroded through & body mount completely shattered off (and i thought mine looked pretty solid rolleyes). Ive been kept updated with pics from Tony at TJ Auto's in Coventry who's doing all the work & its been awesome to have someone with a passion for the car who can genuinely offer advice & worthwhile upgrades etc as we go, i can see why Adrian Venn spoke highly of him. Anyway, heres a few snaps before & after.

Chassis was shotblasted & hot zinc coated, could see the damage to the outriggers & body mount so these were replaced then off to get the newly welded bits shotblasted & hot zinc coated. Opted for U-Pol Raptor for the final finish which is a durable 2K polyurethane coating, used on agricultural machinery, military vehicles etc. The finish is absolutely amazing & because its tintable too, can use it on other parts.. suspension arms in a titanium silver raptor coating.

Great job, but remind me did't this all start with a just few electrical gremlins?
laugh yeah the fuel pump relay had worked loose on motorway that morning! I did spot a hole in the one outrigger myself months ago so pointed it out & well, that was just the beginning..

nice one gents smile he has certainly got a move on with it thats for sure, i couldn't be more happy with the work & input too, i been dropping bits off so got to see myself the different stages as it progresses.

Well the engine has been cleaned, resprayed, stainless manifolds on & wrapped in 'thermal velocity magmawrap' (engineered from aerospace grade yarns manufactured from volcanic lava fibres which withstand 700C heat and are 25% stronger than standard E glass exhaust wrap!)
Rest assured it is not finished yet.. Shiny bolts etc etc plus I wont be keeping the 'blue' stuff on there & plenum chamber is being resprayed too wink

scratchchin Looks good, but what sort of profile is that rubber? Is it a semi-elliptical section bonded on top of the screen/body interface, or does it actually encompass the windscreen glass edge in a groove?
The usual fitment is flush glazed with a sealant surround.
ahhh ill leave you wondering about that one glen, just another one of "the Phantom S1's" many mysteries laugh

(DJ Voice) this ones for all you robbopoppers out there biggrin

Just to clarify the 'blue' hose will NOT be staying it looks dreadful against the green but its just there temporary until a nice black silicone 2 ply one finally arrives from autosiliconehoses who seem to never have it in stock on the 3 times ive ordered it.. Im also pleasantly surprised at the quality of the ally rad its VERY well put together & has a lifetime warranty according to mishimoto, hopefully shouldnt have leaks anytime soon..

final completion 2weeks, still bonnet hinge mod to do, rad hoses (missing from the kit) etc etc

Very nice young Steve, great progress indeed. smile

However I cannot help but notice that your Phantom S has the Shadow of the Big M cast upon it. Will this be a permanent spectre? Or will it metamorphose into a lovely shadow of a big S?
Why thank you kind sir, ah that was the m for 'mishimoto' who design the rads, it's covered up by the fan now wink

@scubaman04 As for close up pics you may have to make do with our Glen the male model if the years selfie biggrin
Think Ive only got the two snaps on my phone sent from my mechanic earlier
