I realise this has probably been done a few times but I am after a front Indicator with an Amber lens, I want one that fits correctly, one that sits over the trim etc like the originals.

Are the reproduction ones that you see advertised the correct size and shape?
I see TVR Spare Parts have them at £90 + vat eek

Don't suppose anyone has any lying around doing nothing smile

I do want to get the right type and fit, they should wrap over the body/bumper and some suggested do not appear to do that. Some are actually smaller too, both height and width.

As said, they are not protected though when they are on, prone to damage I guess.

Thanks for the suggestions, I will keep looking at all alternatives but if I have to I will bite the bullet redface

They are the Valeo ones I think that are smaller, they don't cover the rubber on the bumper.
Someone also told me the Leyland Daf van ones may do?
Problem is for me, many probably fit into the hole and do the job as an indicator but they don't curve over the edges like the original ones fitted, if I fit a smaller one in it looks a bit of a mess.

On a side note but also Lights, found someone locally by accident who sells old Ford bits mainly for concours Fords, I asked if he had any rear MK4 Escort Lights, managed to picked up a pair of NOS still boxed etc which will look so much better than my current pair, one has a hole in it and is taped up and the other is an aftermarket part that has gone all cloudy and doesn't match smilesmile

Must admit I actually prefer the Nissan ones after comparing cars. That overlapping part on the Sherpa ones doesnt look right to me. Matter of taste, however I have stockpiled Nissan ones at the right price!
Would Ford Maverick front indicators be the same as the Nissan Terrano? The vehicles looked the same? TVR used Ford for many other bits on my S1

When you say overlapping part doesn't look right, what was originally fitted, that part overlapped didn't it?

Escort Mk 4 Rear ones (not van or cabrio) are definitely getting harder but they are more recent and were made in bigger quantities so can still be found.

Agree, although I looked at those and getting a decent matching pair is not so easy, the pair listed are in Ramsgate and are collection only. I did buy a pair off ebay and when they arrived one was cracked in the corner so had to go through the dispute process to get a part refund, so now have an odd light that may be kept as a spare...

Another word of warning! The grp mouldings in the tail light area on the S, especially the early ones, are not 100% reliable (now there is s surprise!). If you just bolt the new unit in it could well catch or get distorted and as you tighten the nuts..it cracks. Guess how I found that out! The recess on one side on mine is considerably shallower and I had to grind a touch off the end of the corner projection of the lens and slightly change the spacing of the seal strip to get a good enough fit.
Thank you for mentioning that, I will hopefully get time to play with my car shortly and changing the rear lights over is on my list! Appreciate you pointing this out. Are the seals sufficient on there own or do people seal them with a sealant?

Also, re the front Indicators, the ones for sale @ TVR Parts Ltd illustrates (see link below) it coming with the bulb holder section too, the description does say Lens but wondered if you get the whole lot? I will be asking them to clarify that. Also lucky for me they are not far from where I work so I can physically go and see the product to compare with what I currently have.

Jesus!!!! eek at £108 a piece they had better be original type. Better get them separately insured as well. I have got to be completely honest, I do not like them anyway, they dont fit the aperture or match the bumper rubber very well. Those fragile edges always seem to get cracked and then they look awful. Mind you, I am a pensioner, rather spend that much on something important! laugh
I didn't buy those from there wink
