Time for the chassis refurb

I bought this V8s earlier in the year, it had been sitting for some 4 years, we managed to get it running and mot'd but due to a faulty wiring loom and rust on the injector connections among other little faults I've not managed to use it as planned.

I have accumulated most of the parts required to carry out a full refurb, the plan is to restore the chassis, strip and check the engine (this was rebuilt 30k ago) replace the wiring looms and dress everything as its rebuilt.

Once i have a solid base it'll be off to Surface and Design for a fresh coat of paint ... the colour hasn't been chosen yet so suggestions are welcome.

This is an exciting time for me, I've always admired the S series and I'm looking forward to using it as it should be.

As the project proceeds I'll post up some pics for anyone that's interested.

Mr Tickler ..... I don't want to mislead anyone, most of this work will be carried out by the professionals, i simply get in the way and annoy them with my suggestions!

I really like the classic looks of the S series therefore i won't be making major changes. I've got a few trick bits in mind :-)
Mechanically i'll be upgrading the brakes and suspension but again nothing major.

The cap was removed for refurbishment, this is being covered in another post. In the photo you can just make out the duct tape covering the opening.

The car is undergoing a full rebuild to include a full retrim, the colour of which will be chosen once we have decided on the exterior colour ...... It's a blank canvas really.

A few more pics from my visit today, all going well the Chassis will be totally striped and off for blasting on Monday.

The previous owner had maintained the chassis so all in all its not bad for its 24 years of service.

The engine was also rebuild some 30k ago and fitted with a Kent H214 cam, its a bit lumpy for day to day road use so the engine will be stripped, every thing checked and the cam replaced.

Hoping to have everything completed by the end of November and then its off to the paint shop .... fingers crossed
