Bad news folks. Blatting along in my S3c, and all is well until I arrive at a junction and the little bandit (lb) just cuts out. No spark out of the coil is the initial deduction, and remains that way so transported home..... but this morning there were sparks aplenty and the lb fired up. It is now running OKish, but insists on idling at 1500 rpm. Anyone with any thoughts?

Nooooooo........
Surely not, hopefully not too serious.
I suppose now is not a good time to buy it!
Hope all is well, must meet up at a 'do' soon.
Best wishes.
Mike.

No, it's not too serious. Have a top mate who has all the diagnostics for the ECU, and have also managed to source a new coil. The only other mate I have has said that the coils are oil filled and this can cause problems with insulation as they get hot. So methinks I should have it sorted pretty darn quick. The only other thought is that it could be the pick up from the flywheel, but these tend to go and stay gone, so that'll be my last resort. Hope to see you soon. All the best, beeka

The Little Bandit roars again. Replaced the ignition module AND the coil, and now she growls! Also sorted out some dodgy wiring to the fuel pump that wasn't helping. Just an exhaust manifold crack to sort out, and then I'm done...It'll be good when it's finished, Mike! I won't be at anything till early Sept; lots of work and a little soujourn across the Channel, but hopefully see you and Mike then.
Cheers, beeka
