Indeed. The Italians had (still have?) a very punitive tax regime whereby anything over 2000cc go hit with a big charge. TVR took the Rover V8 and reduced its capacity to under 2 litres then grafted a supercharger to it, hence the bulge in the bonnet of the normal UK spec 4l RV8 (allegedly)

Hi everyone, thanks for your posts !
Unfortunately, in Italy we still have punitive tax regimes...
Yes, It's a wonderful car with a monstrous engine noise
The car is fantastic, I'll post some photos as soon as possible.
Thanks everyone !

Do you know of any others then?
I (and many others I think) thought that this car never made it past the prototype stage at Blackpool so seeing photos of one and hearing that there may be more is very interesting.
Is it fast?
Mmm, to be honest....I (and many others I think) thought that this car never made it past the prototype stage at Blackpool so seeing photos of one and hearing that there may be more is very interesting.
Is it fast?
I don't know the exact number, I told almost 10 because we went to about 3/4 dealers before decide to buy this one...
And all them had one model to test...
We didn't like the colours of those models, so we didn't take them, and ordered a new one (this one... )
I don't know where those test cars are now, but I can assure you we had to wait a VVEEEERRRRYYYY long time for this car !!!
Yes, It's fast
Perhaps not as the 4 litres (I have never tried this model), but certainly fast
If you give gas, also in third gear the wheels loose grip :-|
This is the reason I'd like to install larger tires and 17" wheels...

Blimey so not only is it super super rare but you've had it from new aswell!
Steve Heath Bible says 3 were made, clearly there were a few more.
Chris
Sorry, I didn't remember very well, it's 16 years since we bought this TVR... Steve Heath Bible says 3 were made, clearly there were a few more.
Chris
When we bought this car, in Italy there were other two V8S 2000 cc, one electric blue (in Rome, used for testers, newspapers and Tv, so, better not to buy this one), and another one grey in Genova, we tried this one, but did'nt like the colour.
So, che number is really 3, those two and mine, it's amazing !!!!!!

The belt isn't missing, thats the tensioner wheel.
Interesting car btw.
I think it is missing - there's no sign of the belt on the upper or lower drive wheels either.Interesting car btw.
What is missing ?
Sorry, I don't understand which part you refer to...
But I can assure that what you see is the original engine, no modifications were made...
