After reading about tyres in the bible I bought a can a tyreweld/inflator at the weekend £6 and ditched the spare wheel. This has given me much more boot space and I can now fit a bag in with the roof down. I weighed the spare and it came out at 10Kg, so I recon to have gained about 2bhp/ton. Not bad for £6. I can't say as I have really noticed the difference, but it all helps.

I,m off down the gym to lighten my own chassis and perhaps gain a few more bhp/ton in the bargin.

I've got RAC and my mobile. If it's good enough for the new model TVRs and Aston Martin it's good enough for me. It's not much use if you are in a hurry, but from what i hear a ride with the space saver can be an adventure ar speeds over 20mph, and as the blown wheel/tyre will not fit in the boot you have to put in in the passenger seat!

I'm bound to have a blow out now.....

I thought that mine was rated at 50!

As for punctures..... when ever I have had one the place tells me that it's too close to the side wall to fix and that I have to have a new one anyway. At the end of the day with a performance car maybe it's safer that way.
