Maybe off to see an S3C at the weekend (hangover permitting).
Whats your number one piece of advice when inspecting such a car?

(I have the "bible" buying guide already, yet to read though)

I already have (parts of) a borrowed bible and will get my own when I get the car.

Thanks.

Any S owners in the Southampton/Portsmouth area prepared to help?
Email me if you like.

Thanks Pies.

When you say to check all the bulbs work do you mean dashboard warning lights? Should these come on when the ignition is turned as a test?

Also a question to all S owners.
is a slight door drop acceptable or should I be looking for no drop at all?
Is it possible to "adjust out" any door drop on the hinges.

Incase there are differences in the models Im talking about S3's.

Thanks.

Back to the question;
S Buying tips

Crazing - Is slight cosmetic crazing the norm? Im not talking serious here, just very light surface crazing.

How will I know it IS a C if its been de-catted?

I know it has an LSD but I cant see that either!

What other signs are there?

Also is it really worth me trying that much harder to get a C? Is there much difference? (I know about the torque hike).

He'll never find me in here!

I can see that it was a bit of a saga though.
THis S3 hunting can be a pain!
