of journey I mean.

Had a day in work in the UK yesterday, so took the opportunity to take the (new shiney) V8S up to Surrey to show off to a petrolhead mate (oh, and go to a meeting too). He was dutifully and suitably impressed with the noise etc.

Got back home after the journey back down the M4 and the exhaust note seemed to sound 'deeper and richer' than when one normally does the local 'pootle' about on the weekend.

Or was it my hearing after 5+ hours of listening to it and the wind noise?

No can do on the de-cat, its 93 L, but it makes sufficient noise through our narrow little valley streets for the wife to get the kettle on before I turn into our road(!)

That'll be loud enough (especially with a 6am start yesterday )

I had the same sensation last saturday when i went on a longer trip than normal.
I started to think that it may have something to do with the heat of the exhaust system - presumably the acoustic qualities would change as it got hotter?

every chance I'm talking bollox here mind you!

Thanks for the clarification.

Have to say though (even though it may be considered heresy around these parts) that I'm happy enough to keep the cat on it.

As I said in a previous post, I think its loud enough as it is.
