Does length really make that much difference?
Discussion
of journey I mean.
Had a day in work in the UK yesterday, so took the opportunity to take the (new shiney) V8S up to Surrey to show off to a petrolhead mate (oh, and go to a meeting too). He was dutifully and suitably impressed with the noise etc.
Got back home after the journey back down the M4 and the exhaust note seemed to sound 'deeper and richer' than when one normally does the local 'pootle' about on the weekend.
Or was it my hearing after 5+ hours of listening to it and the wind noise?

mycroft said:I started to think that it may have something to do with the heat of the exhaust system - presumably the acoustic qualities would change as it got hotter?
I had the same sensation last saturday when i went on a longer trip than normal.
