For all those on the Forum who advised on fitting XJS seats to my S series, I thought I would attach this photo of the completed job. You will remember that the seats were grey when bought.....thanks once again for all the help

Hi,

I did the re- colouring myself using a kit. A bit of a fiddle but as you can see, worth the effort.

The wider wooden strip is also off an XJS, I think it's the waist moulding. The colouring kit was from the Furniture Clinic. In the kit is a sealer remover, alcohol cleaner, colourant, finisher and an air brush. I used my own compressor driven air brush rather than the one supplied.

If you need any other info let me know. I'm really pleased with the result.

Hi,

The trim colour is biscuit. However, I sent a piece of leather to Furniture Clinic so they could match it.When I received the kit,the label on the coulerant was cream. Either way the match was perfect.

When fitting the seats I took your advice and dry fitted them prior to changing the colour. I also fitted bars to the seat runners so I did not have to re-drill the floor, I made some seat belt guides as you suggested and turned around the seat belt bracket.

Having done all that it still was a pig to fit them and yes I did swear a lot.
