Anyone seen a Evora--in the USA?
Discussion
I went to Lake Forest Sports Cars for an open house with the Evora. They were kind enough to let me drive the car on the somewhat icy roads. Here are my short impressions...the engine noise is not memorable, ingress/egress are much better than the Elise (as reported), but it doesn't compare to the Aston Martin, Porsche, Corvette. The interior is first class--superb touch points, great seats for example. The view out the back is nominal. Driving the car, the steering had excellent feel, the gear change was smooth and the brakes bit very hard. The car looks impressive, but the Elise wins the looks battle.
The dealer said the car I drove (apparently high spec) would be priced around $85,000. I think the car is overpriced at $85,000--though if it was priced closer to the Cayman (say 5% hgiher), Lotus would be on to something.
The car is an every day proposition--even for those of us who see a lot of snow. Price it at $60,000 and the car will be a winner.
Maybe I will let someone else take the deprecation hit!
