Hi all,

As above, tight budget currently restricts the choice to either Double Tree Ealing or Hilton Croydon. The Half board package at these hotels seems to represent very good value for money at these 2.

We’re taking our daughter to London for a few days and wondered which of those hotels is best, in terms of:

Comfort/food?
Distance to nearest underground into City of London and the ease of getting into London?
Area – nearby places (walking distance) to eat/drink/waste an hour or two?
Any safety concerns with regards to wandering about these areas?

We will be getting the train from Nottingham to our destination – it looks like Croydon is not as easy to get to by public transport, than Ealing.

Can’t really afford to pay any more than Ealing (the dearer of the 2) and would like to be as close to the centre as possible. If any of you know of any alternatives, please do share – all info will be gratefully received.

Many thanks,
Scott

look up the Croydon Park Hotel its directly opposite east croydon station so much more convenient. Whenever I've looked its always been about similar price to the Hilton.
Thanks for this. I'll check it out...

Cheers,

Why Hilton?
Doesn't have to be, really. We don't get to go places often so it's a bit of a treat for my wife and daughter. Plus they have a half board option for £146 a night, which I thought was good VFM

Croydon is a scensoredthole though
I think I'll concentrate on other areas, then.

Thanks for the information - I'll have a look at the Travelodge you mentioned.
