Hi all, I currently live in the longbenton area and seen a house in Backworth we like. Like the idea of a place with a village feel, rolling fields behind the house and paths for biking and walking in the summer but at the same time only 15min brisk walk from the metro station.

However, I looked at the police.uk website and it shows alot of reports for the small cul-de-sac we are looking at - I cant believe them to be true. The data is completly in conflict with everyone Ive spoken to (including the local news agent, local police, current owner)who say its a quiet area where very little happens so I was hoping their would be some friendly locals on here to provide another perspective.

Thanks

Andy

I'm interested in Backworth, if there is any negatives to living there let me know also. Looking at buying either later this year or into next.
Will let you know. I wish they'd never wasted £300k of our money on that website. Just checked my mates street and it looks like its part of the Basra strip when in reality its quiet.

Like anywhere else - has it's good times and bad times

last time we visited kin there we took a chinese meal home with us from the takeaway

bad gut off uncooked chicken. grrrr

has any one mentioned the car scrap yard around the corner for spare parts and playing in.
Ive never eaten chinese since I had similar experience a few years ago from a one in south gosforth.

I was reading about the scrapyard and apparantly they dont allow you to go in and strip bits off the cars anymore - health n safety brigade put an end to it frown

Thanks for all the replies guys.

Ive bought the house smile Cant wait to move in. Its on the same side of the road as the barn style houses, just a little further down and its overlookiyg the fields.

Thinking of getting a Honda HR-V for running about in to save the miles and short journies on the Z4 coupe. Anyone have any experience of them?

Thanks again
