Just found out that I'm going to be spending a week in Newcastle in the middle of March training and staying in a hotel. There will likely be a big group of us and while I don't drink myself I'm sure quite a few do. I don't mind doing the whole pub thing but can't really see me in a nightclub any more. I did turn 40 last year!

Basically I'm looking for suggestions of things to do in an evening in Newcastle for a decent sized group of people of different ages, most likely younger than me!

Four or five players to a lane should take an hour or more at least?

Longhorns BBQ restaurant.

See if there's any live music on at the Sage.
These sound like good shouts. Thanks.

The Orchid on the upper Quayside opposite the Copthorne Hotel is really good.
That's really good as we're staying at the Copthorne. Thanks.

Spent most of the nights in the hotel or at the Wetherspoon's next door! Thanks though.
