I am planning to organise a Spring Sunday fun run, lasting 2-4 hours with a lunch break, around Lincolnshire.
Lovely county, nice mix of roads, but I only moved recently to the Newark area and so far my main experience has been driving the A15 north from Peterborough, the A133 from Newark to Gainsborough, and the A46/A158/A157 from Newark to Cadwell Park. No prizes for guessing why the latter route.

I have already discarded the idea of using Nottinghamshire roads as well - somebody, in his last will and testament, seems to have left the county council the entire output of the average speed camera factory for the last five years, with a job lot of 50 signs thrown in for luck. The consequent traffic queues on every road, behind somebody who feels that 50 means 38, would take the "fun" out of "fun run".

I do not advocate speeding, don't run away with that idea, but it is nice to be able to run at 60 on minor roads and 70 on dual carriageways.

Please can I have your suggestions for some nice flowing (country) main and B roads for inclusion in my plans?

Thanks! That's a good start, as the Horncastle to Louth road A153 is also great.

Not true, it's a big enough county and you just need to learn which stretches of A road to avoid. There are plenty of nice B's, too.
Fair enough - I have limited experience, mainly of the Newark/Nottingham/Mansfield/Gainsborough area. I will investigate further.
