Hi all,

Looks like we'll be back in the UK after 12 years in the Middle East.

My Father lives in the middle of nowhere just South of Bucknell, and we were thinking of setting up around Ludlow as it looks like a really nice area. We'll be (semi)retired so will be happy to potter about and do lots of nothing unless we feel like doing something smile.

What's the general vibe of that sort of area?

For reference, rest of the family is around Milton Keynes and I've liver in the area before and not bothered if I didn't go back, but I know the wife would like some family close for support.

I'm in Much Wenlock and love living in the area - and I think it only gets nicer as you head further to the South and West.
That's great news smile

I'm in the same area (Leominster)...... beautiful part of the world.

A49 can be a bit of a pain - most of the accidents are caused by locals. Frequently. Annually.

Lots of great walks - if you like to embrace the rural lifestyle, it's lovely.

Some truly epic driving roads too wink

We're going to be staying in Presteigne for 3 months as a stop-gap.

Can't wait - I want to walk an hour a day, up the hills. Come rain or shine.

I'm a country boy, best times of my upbringing were in deepest, darkest Somerset, so I love that stuff.

Ok, here's another thing - My wife is Indian, she doesn't look Indian per se, but she doesn't look Welsh! That's for sure. Now, I know that all the awesome people I've met in the UK are actually totally cool providing the other party (wife) is.

We're not going to have any issues are we? I get really fighty on her behalf frown
She just want's chill and enjoy the beauty of the UK, as do I!
