Mobile Speed Camera on the A38
Discussion
guys I was driving up the A38 today Between Derby & M1. Cruising up the inside late I noticed an 02 plate white high roof transit van with the spare wheel on the rear door. It looked like a typical used transit, then what caught As I got closer the rear roof section had two tinted windows & sat behind were 2 camera's (tilted towards the outside lane).
In the front cab were 2 policemen!
This in my opinion is the lowest of the lowest.. The question I have is.. Has any spotted this van before? and does it take footage whilst driving or just when static?
Cheers!

Got ya! So the camera is rolling whilst the van is moving?

Automatic Number Plate Recognition: As a vehicle passes through an ANPR camera, it takes an image of the number plate. Those details are then fed into a system which checks them against sources such as the Police National Computer (PNC), Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA), Local Force Intelligence systems and motor insurers databases. If the number plate is matched to one of the sources, the ANPR equipment will sound an alert.
