Access to Imber

The Ministry of Defence has told us that, subject to any urgent operational need, the roads to Imber will be open between 1600hrs on 20th December 2013 and 0800hrs on 6th January 2014.



Christmas and New Year Open Days (New)

St Giles Church will be open to visitors between 27th December and 5th January. The church will open at 11am and close at 4pm each day. Refreshments will be available each day. Honey, literature and the usual postcards will also be on sale.

Popped across there at lunchtime today (rude to not as it is approx 15mins away) must have been the '2CV Owners Club' meet as about 25 of them arrived just after we did!

I tried and failed to find that tank - where is it?!
Enter from Warminster and you will pass lots of them on the road in!

For those that enjoyed a walk around Imber there is public pathways for walkers on the plain which bring you very close to the 'German Village'

If you are driving to Imber via A303 then via Shrewton/Tilshead you shouldn't have any problems

Bit late but went up again over Christmas, stopped at Imber to take a few photos then drove over to Copehill Down and took some more...
