Just to confirm the plan as a few posts have gone off topic.

This Sunday, 1st February at the Northey Arms in Box, just off the main A4. Meeting time is 8.30am.

Michael who runs it, will have breakfast on for us in the form of full English or bacon/sausage baps etc if you want them.

We have a good number wanting to come along, if we get some good support on this first meeting then we can build on that and get some great drives/events organised over the course of the year. The first meet will be a get to know you all and admire each others machines. We can then get some plans for the future set up.

Come along, we will probably be there until 10.30am/11am i guess.

My mobile number is 07789 862866 if you need to text/call for directions but it's pretty easy to see.
thanks
Alastair

I'm into all sorts of cars and am lucky enough to have a few different ones. I live in Corsham but around this area there seems to be a lack of meets and general petrol head chat which i miss as most of my friends are not remotely interested in cars!

So, i thought i'd put the feelers out to see if there were any of you that wanted to get together on a regular date each month to chat and look over each others pride and joy and then in the future, organise some drives from that meeting point as there are some great roads on our doorstep if we get out early enough. There would be no restrictions on the type of car or age, just a passion for cars is all thats needed!

So, who'd be interested so i can gauge interest and organise a location and dates etc for an initial meet?

I know but there are already some meets in Bristol and getting there is a pain in the rear hence looking to do something closer to the areas mentioned above.

Ok, looks like we have enough interest and things will no doubt grow from there anyway. I'll get some calls out to a couple of places that can accomodate us and make sure it's ok for them to be open from say 8.30am on a Sunday until perhaps 10.30am unless we go for a drive. I think the first few meets will be arrive, bacon bap and a chat to get to know everyone and then we can sort drives from there on in.

Watch this space!

I agree, the AV8 is a good 30 min drive from me and i'm going completely out of my way for it hence i've never attended but have always wanted to.
I have several ideas for venues, i should have some updates tomorrow on locations that would be central to most of the people that have replied.
Hopefully the first meet can be penciled in shortly after that!

Ok guys, I've got what i think would be a suitable venue. I guess it's all trial and error at this stage so if this venue does not work we can get our heads together for an alternative.

It's at the Northey Arms in Box, Wiltshire. SN13 8AE which is on the main A4 and is fairly central to where most people have replied that they are coming from. Michael does great breakfasts or just butties/rolls if thats what suits us.

Shall we aim for a 8.30am in the large car park on the 1st Sunday of the month which is the 8th Feb? Once we get an idea of numbers and what people are looking for we can hatch a plan and organise drives etc for the next meet.

Who can make it then?

Hi chaps

Thanks to all who made the effort, great turnout and some fantastic machines on show-hopefully the word will spread for the next one on Sunday 1st March @ 8.30am-same place. I've got everyone's emails so i'll email you individually and we can get a round robin email with some updates for future events etc. If you did not jot your email address down and wish to know more please drop me a PM via here and i'll add you on.

As i was leaving there was a Lotus Evora that looked like it was heading there-you'll need to get out of bed earlier next time!!

Hi guys

Apologies I've been off the radar but i'm now back and the next meeting will be at the same place ie Northey Arms in Box at the same time 8.30am until approx 10.30am. The date is the 3rd May which is the first Sunday of the month. This will continue throughout the summer ie first Sunday of the month. We can play it by ear come the winter again!

Michael the manager in the Northey Arms will have full English breakfast on offer, bacon rolls etc and coffee and there is even the token Eastern European car wash at the end of the car park!

I already know there are a couple of classic Aston Martins and a few Ferrari's coming along with some more exotics and interesting run of the mill cars. Should be good!

Who's in?

Just a reminder that it's this Sunday at 8.30am at the usual haunt!

Its also the Wilton House event that day as well so there is anyone planning on heading down there afterwards in a mini convoy? I have to chip off early on Sunday as i've got to be in London later.

I'm at the F1 so leaving early.
However, tomorrow at 11.30am is Nick Mason from pink clouds annual open event in Corsham (Middlewick house) so it's worth you guys maybe meeting later and heading up there? You can wonder round the grounds and look at the cars he has on display- of particular delight was a La Ferrari and a McLaren F1! It's £5 and all for charity, well worth a trip!!!

Hi guys

Yes, lets do the 6th again and get it back on track although i can't make it as i've got a wedding on the saturday to attend.

The guys at the Northey are always open from 8/8.30am-just give the door a knock if it's shut.

Regards the organisation, i take it on the chin that it could have been better but in the last few months i've got married, honeymooned and then moved house so it's been a bit hectic to say the least! Things should be back to normal from here on it so it would be good to get a good turnout before the weather turns!!
