For the Rugby World Cup quarter final weekend, I am staying in Bristol for 3 nights with 3 mates.

What I am looking for is advice on how to have a great weekend in Bristol. There are no rules for suggestions, other than we need to cover off breakfast, decent pubs and evening "entertainment". Bonus point for random stuff to chip off whilst there.

Location wise we're staying at the Ibis Bristol Centre.

Thanks in advance.

If you like rock music The Hatchet pub is the place to go, a tudor house built in 1606.

But for macho rugby types, there's only only thing to do in Bristol at the moment and that is the Shaun the Sheep tour http://shauninthecity.org.uk/wink
Looks like that show will have finished by the time our festivities start, our Welsh cousins may be interested in a nip across the border though.

Quite - what sorts of things does the gang want to do? Bristol's got a fantastic range of options in easy reach.

If it's just mindless drinking, get to the Coronation Tap in Clifton and see if anyone can actually finish more than 3 or 4 rather small glasses of ciders wink

Mindless drinking will inevitably happen, I've been living over here since 2003 and have developed a taste for Old Rosie etc. my other buddies may have some catching up to do.

Now what about:
Good breakfast - Excellent Bloody Mary's are not essential but merit points will be awarded
Indian Restaurants - Should be plenty of note in that neck of the woods given the "import / export" heritage of the city
Gentlemen's Establishments - not for me obviously; but just in case the question comes up

Huge thanks for the help so far

La Rocca on the triangle for a great cheesy night club, cheap, clientele mainly doctors and lawyers.

Coronation Tap (as suggested)

Hausbar at the top of blackboy hill to finish the night off.

Stay in Clifton and the Centre for both evening and daytime activities and you won't go to far wrong

Ashton Court to hire mountain bikes is walking distance.
Cheers fella, is the city hopping because of the overflow from Cardiff for the rugby games? Looking forward to a very long weekend.
