Would anyone be up for this towards the end of April?
I have no problem arranging this for either April 19 or 26?
with work for me being very slow my car might be off the road from May so would like to get it in before then, I will source a good pub with large carpark for lunch. So shall we see a list of names with preffered date by the side?

Steve.C (mustang) either date

Can I recommend this pub:

http://www.britishpubguide.com/cgi-bin/pub.cgi?res...

about 10 mins from the Gorge with good food and plenty of parking. There's a few routes we can do over the top of the Mendips (my usual hunting ground), so if you need ideas let me know!
Thanks Moose, that pub looks suitable, are you able to sort a decent route, a good one that will take say 15-20mins? that's enough time for a good run then perhaps

Right, slight change of plan which shouldn't be a problem as everyone who has put a name down can do both dates, I had forgotten I am already booked up for a Cotswold Mustang tour on the 26th so the Gorge meet will now definately be April 19! start time to be confirmed but will most likely be around 10am.

If anyone knows of a good pub within say 30mins max drive that has a car park large enough to take 40+ cars and feed 30+ people can you let me know please!

have found this one...
http://www.panboroughinn.co.uk/index.html good size restaurant and they say the car park will hold 40-50 cars, If I make a booking they can close off the bottom half of the car park for us if we get there to park at 11am, can those on the list who have not put if they are eating confirm please as I will need to phone the above pub on Monday and make a reservation.

  • *meeting time 9am***
(can a mod edit the start time into the thread title please)

Thanks

The good point about starting there at 9am and more so for people who have to come a little further, is that the roads will be clear of dawdlers and the drive there will be more enjoyable

Should think if the meet's now to start earlier Steve, fewer will stay for lunch and numbers on the list above will (slowly?) be updated accordingly...?
Doubt it, you say start at 9am and a fair few will turn up between then and 10 or later, by time everyone has chatted/taken pics etc getting to the pub for 11 will be tricky!

Was merely suggesting an earlier start time so everyone could park in the same place, but as a fair few are driving quite a way 10am for a start time will be better, as for food I guess everyone can make a suggestion on the day and take it from there, trying to source a pub with a big enough car park and restaurant to cope with so many is difficult.

Someone has removed me from the list also!
As I'm in Warminster I can be at Granada services (by the exit) for 8.45 to leave at 9 if anyone in the area wants to convoy over?!

Indeed a very good turnout, thankyou to all who attended! smile
And hats off to the parking attendant who instead of hounding everyone for £3 to park he suggested all paying £1.50 donation to the charity bucket, top man!
