In the interest of getting the best from our performance engines, I would like to share the excerpt I recorded from the programme last week, quality may not be to great as I recorded it direct with my video camera.
However, when I saw this I was very impressed with the results shown, so much so, I found a reasonably local company who had invested in this technology and went there last Saturday and had the treatment, I can fully endorse the claims made on the programme, and am highly delighted with the result. For those of you who know the performance of my Volvo in the past will agree it is pretty rapid, this Terraclean treatment has made a tremendous improvement in performance throughout the range and I would claim an increase in economy by 2-3 mpg.
As these machines are rolled out (there are only 5 in the country so far) it is expected to be a yearly thing to consider when having your car serviced. There is also a system designed for diesel engines.

I saw that episode and thought it looked like a great bit of kit, can I ask how much the treatment cost?

Stef
Hi Stef it was £95+vat, when you consider the time it takes, 1 hour, plus the cost of the equipment (10k), and the end result, I reckon thats good value. They do it for diesel engines too and I'll be going back next week to get the CRV done. http://www.performancetuninguk.co.uk/

For those interested to get this service locally, Drayton MoT centre at the rear of Co-Op Drayton Road Drayton Portsmouth now has petrol & diesel facility. I did discuss with him the idea of an open day with a concession for PH members if we can get enough interest.
Since I first posted about Terraclean, my car was MoT'd a couple of weeks ago and the tester was very surprised to see the emissions so so low on an older engine.

It would be interesting to see how it's all done and no doubt would generate some business for them!
As each Terraclean process takes approx 1 hour, I think 5 or 6 PH members would need to register interest for a Saturday open day to be arranged, so if the interest is there please add your name.

I'm sitting on the fence on this one. I think.

I was initially very interested; if the Terraclean process perks up and cleans out the engine I thought it'd be worthwhile.
I sought an opinion from the Mercedes Independent chap who looks after my car and he said that modern cars, using decent petrol don't really get coked up and that a clean out might in fact be of dubious worth.

I've just had a look at my last MOT & the Basic Exhaust Emissions Test Results, the readings I had were:

CO 0.030% (Limit is <=0.200%)
HC 1ppm (Limit is 200 ppm)
lambda 1.030 (Limit 0.970 - 1.030)

Christ! Now I'm alarmed, seemingly I only just scraped in through the the last test, the Lambada, which I think I also danced once (I was very pissed at the time)
silly
Anyone understand these numbers or know what a lambda is, should I be concerned? Must I be Terracleaned?
My car has been run on V power all its life, and used one of the best oils on the market (Amsoil) and yet Terraclean made a vast difference to mpg & throttle response, I understand the skeptic's point of view, but I have not got any vested interest apart from recommending something I know really works, I refer you to B1GRLM who resurrected this thread earlier today

Assuming you each went ahead with your plans and had your cars terracleaned, have you got any feedback on how things went? Was it worth it?

Cheers
Thomas
Due to bad organisation on my part, it never went ahead, however, myself have had 3 cars Terracleaned with fantastic results along with Suprasi who has has at least 3 cars done also. Would highly recommend.

Dave, Can you give a quick summary on what differences you noticed? Would it be suitable for a low mileage high performance car? (I note Simon has had some cars done). I am thinking of my 07 DB9 with 24,000 on the clock.
Hi David, the very first point I noted retuning home was how fluid and responsive the throttle was, without a doubt more power output, increased fuel economy, not ever trying to get extra mpg, as that spoils the whole concept of having a perfformance car, the overall average has increased by 3 mpg, but the overall proof of how good the Terracleane system is is the emissions on MoT, my local garage just can't believe how low they are, refered to as a brand new engine, not bad for 68k.
I'm looking at having it done every other year now, and I understand that in The States, it's done annually on service. A friend of ours who runs a garage in Rake, does Terracleane on any vehicle that fails emissions , and 90% of the time solves the problem. You still get disbelievers but I am 100% convinced.

I had my 2004 Saab93 1.9tid recently at Jubilee garage Shotton Deeside for a Terra Clean. Prior to the clean i was getting 42mpg , after the clean im getting 34.5 to 36mpg i have no idea why and no reply from the garage, is this supposed to happen?
That is NOT consistent to any other Terraclean feedbackI have heard, please contact Terraclean direct for their view. However, how did you find the power gain in comparison
