Parking near Southampton hospital

Afternoon PH.

Does anyone know of any places that are free to park near Southampton hospital for a few days? Brother has got to have a operation next week, and we don't want to pay however much hospitals want to charge.

Going to go for the multi story, I can only be there for a bit, and don't want to spend most of it finding somewhere and walking!

Bit more advice, which is the best way to get from Poole to the hospital? I'm leaving at around 1800, so not the best time! Would the M27 or going to Lymington be the best at that time of the day?

In the 70's / 80's I lived in Dale Valley Road, I know that there is permit parking now, but I don't think it goes all the way along.

Alternatively, park at the Sports Centre, there is a free car park & on road parking in Dunkirk Road. From the end of Dunkirk road, turn right and walk up Lordswood Road. You'll see some large gates on your left just after the last house. This is the cemetry, turn in here and follow the road. You pop out on Tremona Road very near to the main hospital entrance.
