Popping there tonight for a beer so will speak to them about the car park entrance and see if we can have it smoothed.

There were a few last time that struggled to get up the 1st entrance.

Right guys, just in from a lovely little meeting with the Kitchen Club & Dorset AutoSpares and the result is as follows:-

- Next meet on the 7th will feature the same free drinks offer for the first lucky arrivals - this will be obtained by finding me or a couple of the others helping organise and grabbing a token.

- Dorset AutoSpares are hoping to be in attendance and will perhaps be handing out vouchers on the night for great offers on products and money off orders

- Kitchen club are keen to offer attendees incentives and even throw in a couple of prizes too.

Prizes on the night for the following:-

- 'Car of the night' - this will be decided by a quick ballot from people in attendance. Looking like a lovely little £25 voucher from DAS. Surely a nice incentive to come along and get a reward for doing so!

- 'Best on show' - this could be the nicest set of wheels, beautiful interior or as simple as having some delicate detailing that makes the odd person take note. Either way, it will be rewarded with a cleaning kit from DAS as well and again votes taken by ballot.

I (or someone with a booming voice) will then announce the winners respectively whilst most are in attendance and we will take the final votes around 8:30. Please stick around for this as you never know, you might be leaving with a tasty prize.

Can't thank the lot of you enough for coming along to the last - would be nice to have new faces and old alike attend the next.

Bart

Guys - I have also been asked to maybe name this (for the purposes of the sponsors of the event).

Anyone have any good ideas? So far I have 'Kitchen Car Club'

(Sounds like home built kit cars from the kitchen mind!)

OK, I got the Skunk back on the road yesterday afternoon... My ointment fly is that today is the last day of road tax, and I don't have enough MOT to buy another tax disc. Assuming I can book (and pass) a class 3 MOT by next week:

21. MikeVeal - Skunk.

Bart, just how bad is the entrance? I have ~ 3" of ground clearance and the bodywork tends to scrape...
Result! I got the ultima in the last time and think I have around 3" clearance at best without any scrapes or lost bodywork wink

Yeah, don't mean to sound funny, but whilst we both have a wheel in each corner, I have fewer corners... the overhangs at the rear tend to bottom out quite easily. I guess I can always get out and push for that extra 1/2 inch clearance.

MOT booked for Thursday. Doesn't give me much time to order any parts and retest, but with luck and a trailing wind, I'll be there.

Ooooh Ultima! Whatyagotiniit?
Haha, we can all grab a corner and give her some gentle encouragement.

Currently running a vw 1.9 td lump for super smooth fuel economy wink.

More awesome news tonight, the kitchen club (hosts) have some prizes too up for grabs. Invite anyone you feel may be interested in coming along smile

Entrance seems to be the same as last time, I propose that those that 'can' get in should, but those that can't or don't want to risk it can use the hard standing on the lower area.

Prizes are as follows -

£25 Voucher to be redeemed at DAS + Kitchen Club extras
Wheel cleaning kit + plus extras

We were thinking of a 'Car of the night' which will be decided by the joyous attendees and also a 'Best on show' which essentially could be anything unique about a vehicle that again is decided by the other attendees.

However, in light of the other suggestions, what about these instead?:-

  • Best sideways drift entrance
  • Most entertaining attempt at driving up the 'mountain' entrance ramp
  • Greatest weight of lost body material on arrival
  • Greatest number of assistants needed to leave the car park
Standard other categories exist still such as the 'Best Looking red Noble M12 from Christchurch' and the 'Most white Scandinavian Turbo ex plod estate car'. Both highly prestigious and fought after categories don't you know....
