Is there a very good restaurant local to Poole Quay?

Hi all,

I'm planning on taking the Caterham to Poole Quay tomorrow for the Sevens on the Quay event (hope to see you all there!).

It's also my girlfriend's birthday, so I said we would drive the Caterham there and then find a nice restaurant within walking distance for a meal. But I can't find one!

I don't want a pub, or a chain steak house or pizzeria, I want a proper restaurant, akin to The Jetty or a nice hotel. There don't seem to be any! Have I missed anything? Anything you could recommend please?

Sort of a local chain as only 2 or 3 of them but right on the quay so easy to get too. I've enjoyed nice meals in there and like its vibe.

Hotel Du Vin - again very nice but at the high price range and I always dress smart when I've been there for meals.

Thanks for the suggestion. My girlfriend suffers from serious food allergies, so we have to stay away from those places with huge menus, as the waiting staff have no idea what's in the dishes. We try to stick to the smaller independent restaurants, as the staff in general are more knowledgeable and reliable.

I thinking Hotel Du Vin is what we're looking for. Dressing up in in the Caterham will be fun!

Out of interest what allergy? My OH and Daughter have coeliac; the Stable on the quay does gluten free Pizza and pies - they won the best gf pie in the UK award apparently. HdV do cater, but it was a bit of a pain!

Thanks. She's allergic to eggs and nuts. Her nut allergy is very severe, but it's the eggs most places get wrong. It's in too many dressings, and used as a filler in some sausages, fishcakes and other things.

Went to Hotel Du Vin in the end. Loved it, great food, friendly staff and a beautiful building.
