The PH 2013 Yorkshire Spring Hoon

I glance from my office window and see this appearing more and more often:



Then I glance down at this book I got for Christmas:



The two combined makes me think it could be time to organise the 2013 PH Yorkshire Spring Hoon.

Obviously far too early to make specific plans but, but, but it can't be too far off.

I'm thinking we really should make a day of it. Early morning meet, knock off the Dales before bacon sandwiches somewhere, blast over to the Moors and have off all Burriana's favourites before fish & chips by the beach in Scarborough or somewhere.

The book above lists out dozens of places we could visit en route.

Anyone interested?

Ok chums, slight change of plan.

Lets organise the full day jobby in summer when it is lighter. I'll go back through all posts and come up with a proposed date/time but we'll go for an early run with a bacon roll stop, finished by 9am.

Ok chaps, let's try and find a date for an early morning run. First suggestions:

Sunday March 17
Sunday March 24

Meeting place on the A59 between Harrogate and Skipton in time to leave at 7am prompt. 40/50 miles then a stop for a quick bacon roll. 40/50 miles back to end around the same kind of area at. Around 9-9.15am ish.

Taking in a combination of fast, open A Roads, twisty B Roads and a steep pass or two. All cars welcome, sensible driving an absolute must.

So, the traditional list:

Al, once we have a group of the right size I'll draw up two routes. A shorter and a longer.

The end time will be fixed though as I'll need to be back in Skipton before 10 latest and am sure others have stuff on.

If we want to go longer we'll have to meet/start earlier.

Looks like the 24th March works for all so we'll settle on that.

How does everyone feel about a 6.30am meet followed by quick departure?

We are now confirmed for a 6.30am meet on Sun 24th and a run of around 80/90 miles finishing somewhere between Harrogate and Skipton (A59) by or before 9.30/9.45am.
