£200 John O Groats challenge
Discussion
Me and a bunch of friends go for regular hoons in our cars around Northern England and into Europe as well as doing track days.
A late night online conversation recently found us deciding to "race" to John O Groats and back on the 2nd of August. The twist? We had to go and buy sub £200 cars to do it in.
4 of the 6 teams now have their cars. Mine is below. And yes, I did go and buy it in my 458 spider and yes, I still negotiated £20 off the £200 asking price as expected of a Yorkshireman. As I explained to the dealer, being a Yorkshireman in Lancashire if I paid full price for it I wouldn't be allowed back in so he had to knock 10% off.
Should be an err, interesting trip. There are ten photo challenges too, of which one is obviously to get a photo at the signpost in John O Groats in the car.
I present to you one £180 V plate Suzuki Wagon R + which has a rather fetching set of seats and interior trim. I look forward to reporting on our progress. Likely Scotch corner, a blown engine and the nearest pub but you never know!
