Stonking drive out - Sunday 14th
Discussion
As above really....managed some good drive with Yorkshire ph'ers last year......then sold my car and haven't really ventured on any car forums
Having picked up a lovely R8 v10 last week I'm keen to put her through her paces
If anyone is up for a little wander up north Yorkshire, do sign up
Perhaps meet in York or Skipton and take it from there....
From past experience even a couple of other cars can make for a very good experience

These threads always start and end the same :
- Hi, I fancy going for a blast, anyone up for it?
- Me!
- Me!
- Me too!
- Me 3 !
- Me as well!
- OK cool, we have enough numbers to organise something. Right, I've chosen a date, it'll be x as forecast is good and roads will be clear.
- OK! x10
A few days before the run :
- Hi all, everyone still up for Sunday, yes?
- no, can't make it now, I'm washing my hair.
- me too, sorry. Any other day would've been fine though.
- me neither, my gran's cat has died.
- etc etc.
Those organising - just give it up guys! You're completely wasting your time and effort as the SAME thing happens EVERY time. If you want to go for a blast just get in your car and go. I do this myself as I can't be arsed with all the hassle above and I often find myself meeting someone else out for play who I've never seen before.

Turboman, just as a heads up, the pace won't be anywhere near as fast as some of the runs we have had over towards East Yorkshire. Some of these roads are fairly tight and twisty rather than high speed. I don't want you to drive all the way over and be disappointed
Thanks for the heads up Al......the car is frustrating me as with any fast car there is just nowhere to sensibly explore it's abilitiesI guess this run might allow me to get to grips with the handling if nothing else!
In a cruel twist of fate the R8 is currently out of action, albeit temporarily...
Went to do my weekly tyre pressure check yesterday in anticipation of Sunday, and the flipping valve on one of the tyres broke off.....leaving me with a flat tyre....had to get the car recovered 1/2 mile home and now awaiting Audi getting me a new valve which they say will be here by tomorrow...then need to find a mobile tyre fitter to fit, and I should be good to go!

Funny that, my mate has an R8 and that had problems on the way down to Le Mans yesterday. The Ferraris, Lamborghinis and TVR were fine
It was only a flat tyre !!.....I'm hoping nothingness goes wrong but the car is under warranty so no major worries hopefully!I was gutted not to be able to drive the car for the 12 hours ut was off the road given the lovely weather......looking forward to Sunday morning!
Al, email received thanks contrary to what I posted a few mins ago.....made its way into spam folder!
Martyn, would love to see that lovely porker of yours again. ...I'm assuming you've still got it....
If the drive is cancelled due to weather I take it Al will post on here or should we be checking our emails (or both!)

I'll second that.....thanks to Al for arranging and leading the way (al...do you actually know the route off the top of your head or were you assisted by satnav?....I'd have got lost after the first turning! )
The route was a bit rough and ready and rob tells me my car was airborne at one point.....but it was good fun and I'm already looking forward to the next one!
Very friendly group too which always makes the day
