I have been experiencing pretty serious brake judder in my BMW M3 (E92) for about 6 months now.

Well I'm pleased to say that the problem is officially sorted after many months of research and countless wasted trips to people who really don't know what they are taking about. i.e telling me my discs were warped and the only solution was to replace them. It's very simply down to pad deposits on the discs.

The solution was to get the discs skimmed by one of the latest on-hub skimming machines from Pro-Cut that my well trusted mechanic, Andy Turner has just purchased.

I've been to 3 different garages with earlier Pro-Cut machines but the size of the M3 discs has prevented them doing them. This also applies to BMW M5 discs and a number of other 350+bhp cars apparently.

Interestingly every Porsche dealer is issued with one of these machines and they now automatically skim the discs when any brake judder/problems are identified instead of blindly replacing them like BMW and most other manufacturers do. The machines are extremely common in the US but are very unknown over here.

If anyone is experiencing similar issues or has been diagnosed with 'warped discs' then I recommend you contact Andy Turner in Leeds (http://andyturnermotorengineering.co.uk) and he will sort the problem for less than 1/3 of the cost of new discs.
