hi many thanks for that, when you say its rough do you mean idiots, trouble, and is this for most of the town or just some bad areas, not really thought of Whitby but will have a look now, also Filey is on our map to research, getting good info of actually what a place is like to live in is quite difficult,

Thank you for all your replies, we have been following up all your info and it seems almost everyone likes the south side ( Scarb) especially to live ,I have got a few maps and pics of the areas and we can see its a great position and looks stunning, unfortunately no info on pubs, we agreed when we move that walking distance to a local would be on our want list as we have to drive into our village or into Cromer for a drink, like most villages our pubs have mostly gone over to more food and indeed our local has inside a year lost 99% of its locals because a company franchised it from the landlord and ignored them including when the large 3 roomed restaurant was booked they reserved the bar side tables and forbid the locals sitting ( TRUE ) it now will be empty through the winter and the locals just are no longer gathered anywhere for a beer. obviously being retired we dont do clubs but a walk round for a drink is part of retiring for us, a meal out now and then, and we are definitely beech lovers, So the South side is looking good so far, We lived in Falmouth for some tome and I had my name down for a ( Short Hall ) berth for a 6 mtr day boat and finally got it 7 after years waiting ,hope Scab is not that busy for moorings if we go, we are really looking for a Bungalow due to me having an accident (legs not great now ) but modern stairs are not too bad if we found a house, we would be looking in the £210K sort of area 3 beds would be good and we are green fingered so big gardens dont frighten us. Kates a 4 times a week 6 mile runner aroung the villages here as our beech is full of Groins and she cant jump them, Right again many thanks for all your time and info and its all being followed one way or another, if pos more please, and cheers for now avagooden, Alan

Hi, yes dont build many bungs these days but as long as the house isnt too old the stairs are usually not so steep so could be ok, we are following advise and looking on line at Whitby as everyone speaks very well of it and harbours and beeches cant be beaten, so it could be a visit after Christmas to start the ball rolling, so far south side of Scarb and while up there a visit to Whitby at least were moving forward with the search, many thanks and cheers, Alan/Kate

Hi all , this is the kind of info we were hoping for, weve done the house moving all before and most people know moving house is a pain in the A and we know after doing it a few times the most important is as they say Location and as this is our last move needs to be right,I lived in Bradford many years ago and found the people ( and im not saying this to be nice ) were THEE most friendly i had ever met, so that part no worries whatsoever, being retired when we move ( UP NORTH ) we want plenty to do and it seems as your saying Scarb has that enjoy walkaround av a coffee av a pint do a bit o shopping which I know Kate would love. So it looks like a visit is definatley in order and Im looking forward to it, just need to line some houses up to look at to get the feel of the place. many thanks for all this info as I said its what we were hoping for so any info is good another thanks and talk soon we hope. Cheers Alan/Kate
