... but this looks like a scary place to go for your newspaper.

I decided it probably wasn't a good idea to stop outside and pop in to ask if they had a Guardian.

Right, that's been a whole five minutes since my original post so I assume Mr Beaton must be out on deck. wink

Not due away 'til the mora Eric, but I'm honoured you thought of me (I think) LOL

Now, what I need to know is what the hell were you doing in deepest darkest Linlathen - is that the shop on Glenconnor?

Did you get lost coming out of Morrisons? biggrin
Yeah you got it. We were down at St Andrews for Christmas so, on my way to the Tay Bridge, I nipped in to Morrisons for an ingin bridie and a Guardian. wink

My local shop where I used to live in Edinburgh looked similar to that. It was actually a pretty good shop. Sometimes I even risked parking outside it.
Worst "I used to live in Embra" post ever. wink

I wish I'd seen that heart warming banner which I once heard about being displayed from an overpass on the Kingsway many years ago.

I believe it was something like ...

If this amuses you check out the new Asterix and the Pects book.

The Gauls are weegie, the Picts speak Doric and the Romans speak with a Dundee accent. One of the centurions is called Ingananeneus. Clever stuff.

Daily Mince link below sums it up well.

Just to note that I got a copy of this book after reading this thread and it's hilarious. It may be my childish sense of humour, but I thought it was brilliantly written. Cheers for the recomendation.
Yes, thanks from me too. I got one for my missus and got it today. smile

Just noticed that The Nilupul Foundation was founded in Dundee.

That wouldn't have been my first guess. Yet more evidence that I shouldn't judge. smile
