Where should i buy 2004 m3 glasgow area

Looking for a bit of advice here, a work colleague is seriously thinking of buying a 2004 m3 soon. He was looking at one around Glasgow area, he has nothing to trade in. Are there any places to avoid? I mentioned Buchanan motors, but I heard it was not such a good place and they have changed name in the last while also. His budget is £10k , what can he expect to get for this budget? Appreciate any feedback!
