Needing new tyres fitted to 19" wheels.

Cheers.

Thanks guys.

I dropped into Sillett's tyres today and the guy was rushed off his feet. He couldn't fit me in today but quoted £15 per wheel for 19" wheels.

On the way home I popped in past Laws tyres after seeing a recommendation on here in previous threads.

I've previously approached Laws for a few quotes and the prices quoted have been very excessive. They quoted £170 to repair a buckled wheel in the past that Turriff tyres did for £48.

Their tyres were also far more expensive for budget brands, Falken, than premium brands elsewhere.

However tyre fitting surely should be too bad I thought. £45-60 to fit all four seems to be about the going rate.

I dropped past and the depot was dead. There wasn't a car on any of the ramps.

I asked the guy if he could switch over tyres and he said "no bother, just bring it inside" and didn't even offer a price.

Lucky I asked. £25+VAT per wheel. £120 to fit 4 tyres that will take about 30 minutes or so. That's a not bad little earner.

No wonder the place is dead when they are asking 2 or 3 times as much as everywhere else.

I smiled and declined at that price.

I'll be going back to Sillett's during the week.

I had the day to myself today and thought I'd manage to get someone to do the job. Although I do draw the line at £120 to do the job.

My car is due an MOT soon and my rears are quite low. I'd prefer to have new tyres on and not a little advisory about low tyres.
