Keen to try my first trackday this year at Knockhill. Is tuition available at these events or is this something the circuit does separately before you take to the track.
Not looking to set any lap records etc, just keen to have fun.

That's great, thanks for all the responses, I might give KH a call and ask about that.
I see there's an evening session on May 18th, that might be a good first try at it?
Just a bit concerned as my car won't be the fastest thing around there and speed differential with others might be alarming eek but really keen to have a try at it.

Also don't worry about being slow. Overtaking is only allowed on the straights on track days so basically you can take a race line through the corners and enjoy yourself and then just pull over to let faster cars past on the straight.

The problem comes when you get more confidence and start taking the corners flat out, you find yourself being held up by quicker cars being driven slower through the bends but you cant get past them on the straights!
That's good to know, thanks.

So I can expect you in the next day Lewis, for tyres, shocks, brakes and wishbones? wink
Hehe not sure James, would like to use the car on road too without it being rock hard. I'll know after my first track outing how hopeless it is on standard shocks/brakes etc laugh

Had a really enjoyable evening, hope I wasn't too much of a roadblock for some of the faster stuff.

Were you on the open pit session last night?
Yes, it was pretty wet to start with but did dry out a bit.

Yeah I was there too in the yellow mx5. How did you get on?
I really enjoyed it, car was faultless- never missed a beat/no brake problems as I'd feared. There was some quick cars on track but think I managed to keep out of the way and still have fun.
