Edinburgh - Camerons Toll?

Hi Guys
looking at heading to Edinburgh at the end of the month for a couple of nights (2 nights 3 days) break, I've been before and stayed relatively central, this time however i'm trying to keep the costs down.
The Travelodge at Cameron Toll is what I've been looking at, mainly because its only £90 for 2 nights plus I don't have to pay £15 a day parking in the city centre as that has free parking there too.

Couple of Questions:
Does anyone have any experience of the Travelodge at Cameron toll?
Is it a safe area to walk back to on a night after a day in the centre?

I went to the Zoo and castle etc. last time, any other must do's from a locals perspective?

Thanks for the advice guys, doesn't sound too bad, I'll get it booked today.
I'm sure I can cope with getting a bus into the centre for a couple of days, thanks again
