NC500 (north coast road)
Discussion
Hi guys
There are a few of us thinking of doing the NC500 road trip and would like some useful tips
We are thinking of 2nd week of July and planning to cover the 500 miles over 3 days
Whats the weather like in July and how busy is July for tourism also the cars that we will be driving average 13-15 mpg lol
Whats the NC500 like for fuel stations also any good places with secure parking to stop over for the night
Thank you
Tony

Two I'd highly reccomend on the wst coast:
http://www.torridon.com (lots of rooms, huge car park, pub style inn and posh hotel)
http://www.kyleskuhotel.co.uk (smaller rooms, not such space for parking, but great food in new restaraunt)
Thank you booked the torridon for the first night, where would you or anyone else recommomend the second stop over and is it possible to drive from say the torridon to john o groats or even further before night falls http://www.torridon.com (lots of rooms, huge car park, pub style inn and posh hotel)

Afternoon all
Has anyone driven the NC500 in one day if so how many hours did it take
We are thinking of making a start from The Torridon Hotel at 8am Saturday and be in Inverness by 7/8pm ???
The next day we are planning to head towards Loch Ness and then Fort William and back towards Manchester is this possible
Thank you

Evening all :-)
Now that i have booked hotels for NC500 drive i am wondering how will my TVR Sagaris fair on the NC500 route
The Sag has a 4" clearance at best from ground do you guys think it will be fine?
My other option is to take the Diablo but that seems too wide, the Scud has similar ground clearance as the Sag.I also have a Porsche 964 turbo which is very user friendly (but a little boring in comparison to Sag lol)
Whic car is best suited for the NC500?
Thank you

Tiv or the Porker in my opinion, Wide can be a problem on the single tracks (when you meet an artic). 4" clearance isn't a problem, but 'overhang' at the front can be an issue on tight hill corners.
BTW, watch out - the krauts are coming
Thank you BTW, watch out - the krauts are coming
