Hi there,

We're visiting Edinburg early next week for a few days. The missus has pinged up a couple of places to see some music while we're there and I'm just wondering if there's anywhere else to consider.

So far she's looked at Bannermans and Badabing. It would be next Tuesday probably.

There are usually folk sessions at Sandy Bells and the Royal Oak, if that interests you.
Yeah, I used to attend folk session as a guitarist back in the day, so I'd like that if the quality was good.

They're usually good. It varies, obviously, depending on who is about. They're close enough that you can try both and see what's on.
Cool. Thanks for the info.

FYI chaps - the trip to Edinburgh (via the Lakes on the way there and Bamburgh Castle and the Peak District on the way back over a week) was a huge success - nice place.

Music - The Royal Oak was ok but very cramped in the top bar - the Sandy Bells didn't have anything on but we had a pint there anyway. Bannermans was the best and I also bumped into an old Army mate that I hadn't seen for 22 years who was now living in Dunbar but had decided to play there that evening having never done so before.

Food - Mother India Cafe was excellent and the high point was Aizle - exceptional.
