Just wondering if my joining experience is usual:
Downloaded the forms, filled them in, wrote out a cheque, sent it all off.
Eventually received an envelope with a wee cardboard membership card. Handwriten, no other information or anything.
By contrast, at the same time I did a similar application to join the "Locust Enthusiasts" club, and received a proper (Windscreen Ice Removing Grade)Plastic membership card, a wee letter welcoming me to the club with a list of useful websites, and a copy of the previous quarters newsletter. One week later they sent the current newsletter.
Somehow I had expectations that given the long standing and exposure of ADMC that a little more in the way of acceptance would have been forthcoming.
Somebody said that I can get everything off the ADMC website. But, if I have to join by post then I would expect some welcome pack by post.
Maybe I'm just getting old and crusty.

Thanks all, don't get me wrong. I'm well aware of the wide ranging choice of events organised by the ADMC. Just thought it odd not to get a simple letter enclosed basically saying "welcome to the club and hope to see you at some of our events" I actually wondered if something similar was meant to be enclosed, but was overlooked for some reason.
