Evening lads, firstly just to say thanks for a great day Si, well planned roads and timings. Thanks to all we met today for being good sports and making yourselves open to us newcomers for some good banter. (if somebody could teach sxilad some parking commandments for next time)

Worth a mention also that the standard of driving in relation to the conditions was excellent with no major risk taking or tom foolery, also a brief mention to the L&B boys in blue for keeping a visible but unobtrusive presence in duns.

Now to the serious stuff, with the kind permission of the godfathers of runs both east and west, Si and Paul QV, myself and KMM are proposing a central run from Stirling on 11th october. Timescale and distance roughly the same as today but route to be distributed on the day.

We hope we will get a good turnout from East and West peoples and if we get a good interest from the north guys we would try and factor a route that would allow these guys to meet up.

I'm not sure how to do the list thingy but here goes

KMM - Audi S4
FlipFlop - Porsche 996

hey mate, glad to have the glasgow boys first entrant. Would guess suspension needs to be the next port of call (assuming decent tyres), maybe get a quick check up to ensure all is well in both depts.

Alright team,

myself and kmm are meeting later in the week to discuss the next route. We have some fantastic roads in mind but I was wondering, what is the preferred type of road. If you dont mind could you comment from Si's excellent choice of roads. was the first half of the run (to selkirk - quieter narrower roads) or the 2nd half selkirk to Duns faster wider roads. What would the preference be, or a mixture of both.

Cheers guys

Cheers guys, good comments.

We are organised (I think) with toilets and food within immediate proximity of the start. We will take into account a toilet stop at mid point in moring and afternoon and we are aiming to try and get everybody into the same place for lunch.

At present i think we are looking at 2hrs in the morning and about the same in the afternoon. The biggest thing apart from the best roads possible is to try and allow for a way of people from different groups of mates to get to meet each other.

hope this helps

cheers guys

(and thanks Si for keeping the list updated)

Hey ally, its not easy getting a space with facilities for us all. The sat night boy racer brigade dont help the locals need to facilitate our requests. However we have it all in hand and are looking forward to the day.

I am now beginning to appreciate how much Si put in to the run, even just down to ensuring the list is fully upto date, thats my homework for tonight.

Yeah, I did mate. When they named it the center of excellence, they should of named it the center of totty. I loved that gym, hundreds of hungry little student girlies all ready to be abused for the price of a pint and a plate of beans on toast.

Now I'm old and bald thats all f*cked but then again if you beleive fatboy sorry KMM I'm past it anyways.

Thats the beauty of the Northern half of scotland mate. If your in the borders and close to Ingerland its just wet, when your north of the Stirling (or the gateway to the highlands as we like to sell it to the tourists)its not drizzle, its atmospheric.

You can imagine the scene (cue dreamy music) A coachload of japanese and american tourists all standing at the side of the road frantically taking pictures of some random hill in the rain, imagining scenes from braveheart of yonder year. Then, a distant roar, not that of a thousand highlanders on horseback but that of 10 tvrs, 8 porsches countless others and finally the godfathers countache roaring past and leaving the tourists ruined in the spray.....that'l be the pistonheaders october run then!

Ps If anybody has a phd in whatever the opposite of a raindance is, could you pm me or kenny, cheersbiggrin

Morning guys, just a quick apology for the lack of details on the start location etc. Until now that is!

As per last run time will be 9.30 for 10.00am departure. The meeting point is the car park between morrisons, burger king and comet in the springkerse area in Stirling. The car park is next to the supermarket which has toilet and cafe facilities there is also a petrol station, gregs and halfrauds in the immediate vacinity. All of which are open from 9am (for those looking to meet early for a coffee, chat etc)

For those that dont know Stirling, the meet point is easy to get to and I will post a googly map thing once I get my ass into gear. The car park area is a great size (used by the boom boom exhaust brigade for their cruises) so we will have no trouble getting all the cars together.

cheers

Andy

Ps not that we will need it, as kenny kindly left me in charge of the weather but there is a sheltered area at the car park where people will be able to stand and chat without getting wet. - Just a precaution incase the fit burd that does the weather on ITV didnt get my email demanding a dry sunny day.

That is a good question, we are actually conducting a pistonheads first. By posting on the new forum set up by
Micras Are Super Transport Under Realistic British Automobile Terminology Or Roads Surveys or M.A.S.T.U.R.B.A.T.O.R.S for short. we have invited all the masturbators and their micras and we have a small surprise waiting for them.

Armco Dodger drives an industrial wrecking ball crane in his day job and his wife ran away with a micra driver. By enticing the micras to the meet point the big man is currently drooling in his soup at the thought of a half hour with his wrecking ball and a load of micras as target practice.

Hope this clears the whole matter up.
