I dont think we need another thread for the runs as the run threads generally keep themselves on the front page.

If you are invited to join in the bigger events you will be told of the whens and wheres when it has been decided upon.
Ok I'll drop the idea - just seemed from last year that deciding who was organising the next run was a bit random.

I think what we should have is a thread, possibly this one, for the ideas for runs. Then we can committee by proces of shouting at each other which ones we're going for and when.

If you could update your original post with the ones posted here Baz and then we can work the rest of the thread on suggestions as they come in.

I'm thinking of having a full run up the West Coast to Skye later in the year, Aug/Sep.
First post updated with the ideas above - we can try using this thread as a discussion board and I will attempt to keep the first post edited to track the agreements and proposals.

Dougie - any speed cameras on Arran or is it like IOM?

As far as I know there are no speed cameras (Or roundabouts!) on Arran.
Approx. 58 miles for a lap, the Nordschleife is only 14 so it would be
like Nurburgring's big brother!.

Arring - Clydeschleiffe!

Ferry is about 50quid per car but I think it best to avoid the summer hols
as Plod put bike patrols on the island as it attracts a lot of bikers, or at
least it used to.
How about early April (3rd is Mothers Day) but 10th or 17th are still clear of Easter Holidays - should be relatively tourist free - would be bad stuck behind a caravan for 58 miles!
Anyone got a lap record for Clydeschleiffe! Bumper stickers anyone? idea

You would be much better off creating a Wiki - then everyone can update it as they go. It makes stuff like this so so simpler; and is the perfect solution.
Kinky cheers for the proposal - can we still have a long thread running under a wiki as the intention was, as Olberj said, a bit of a "debate" to get to the decisions which I will edit onto the front page.

Sadly I fear an open board would be open to abuse (some folk up here like to play when they've had a wee drinkee (no names to protect the guilty) but if it gets messy I'll drop you a line for more advice.

Wiki is ready based on the brief discussions on here so far - cheers to those who have contributed hopefully we have a busy year ahead - you can never have too many runs! (Although tyre funds may be an issue!)

Lee I can help with the Clyde Valley if Kenny is busy at work - can discuss on 27th!

What about a Western isles tour, you can get island hopper ferry passes valid for a few days enabling you to travel unlimited on Calmac ferries.
Start at Barra and work up to Lewis or vice versa.
Mega scenery they reckon on some of the roads
Craig - cheers could be a runner!
Could you do a rough proposal scoping ferry cost mileage and timing - ie which ferries and how many overnights and if so where and we can gauge the level of interest.

I never realised that PH runs were invite only for next year?
They're not but things like the HH are.
Since when?
Since 2007. HH is not advertised on here anymore so lets keep it that way, cheers folks.

Aye no worries,
I will have a proper look at it in the new year.

What sort of dates and for how long a trip? A night camping and one in a B & B or all tenting etc etc?

Bear in mind that they are mostly just preliminary dates which can and will change as the plans progress.

Would love to see a full calendar though, Trackdays, Hillclimbs etc etc.
The facility is there now just click and update the wiki with any event that may be of interest.

Having finished the route I now have the lunch shortlist for the March Run, spoilt for choice this time. I will try and get a similar menu to the Kilfinan hotel on the last run but the venues look suitable and the route works well - will do a proving run when it gets above 5 degrees.

The march run is all ready now - lunch sorted plenty of parking - route checked in full. Will post a thread in a week or so.

How are people feeling about Arranring in April?
Dougie are you up for organising?

What date suits folks - schools seem to be off for just about the whole month!! so not sure when or if tourists will hit Arran.
