I have a sticky front caliper. 85 280i US so its the solid front disc. Anybody know what the calipers cross over to? I know the brake pads are the same as the 72- tr6, just wondering if the caliper is the same as well. In pics it looks about right without removing mine. Would make it easy for me to locate a rebuild kit and piston next weekend at Carlise Import Show.

Yeah that's not helping me much locally though. TR6s were sold here Cortina not so much. TR6 uses the same pad, has a 54mm piston and is lucas product, hence the reason I'm thinking it may be the same minus the mounting points.

Okay, so how about the early Capris 71-76 came here, is it the same caliper? There are plenty of rebuild kits and pistons avail. for it here.

Pulled this off ebay uk

Website did the trick, for the solid rotors it seems the Granda, Cortina and our era Capri will work, easy enough, a trip to the closest auto parts store and I should have everything here to rebuild them in a day or so. Now of course I'll have to wait for Motobits to get back to me on the price to ship a pair of slotted/drilled discs across the pond.

Thanks for everyones help, my wheels will be a little less dusty and I should get into the 20mpg highway soon.

For those using the search button later. The front calipers and pads are indead the same as a US apec 71-76 Mercury Capri. Bought reman ones from www.amazon.come cheaper than the price of new pistons and now my wheels are brake dust free!
