I am considering investing in a chrome locking petrol cap for the Wedge. These days petrol is so expensive that the stereo is no longer a favourite amongst thieves. Not to mention the damage that could be caused by someone taking a dislike to the Wedge or it's owner. I have managed to source one, but it is a bit pricey at 50 Sovs including postage. However, in the long run, it would put my mind at ease, and add bling to the car. Though I don't actually leave the Wedge anywhere for a long length of time. Also, now that I have a shiny knob, what better than to have a shiny cap to go with it. Better safe than sorry as they say. The company selling them are on holiday at the moment, so if I do order, it will be next week when they return. Any views on the matter?

If you have secured a locking petrol cap make sure its non-vented as most of them are vented..You will be double lucky if its a Ceandess which was the original type..
It is a Ceandess and I believe it's non vented. If it doesn't fit they will take it back for 15% surcharge which is fair enough I guess. Why must it be non vented? What's the reason?

But that's an unusual position for the driver's seat....
Maybe the engine is where the drivers seat used to be. A sort of mid engine set up! :#)

And that get you home tyre leaning on the body looks a bit big!

Hi Tony...Basically if you have a vented tank which we do then you would use a non-vented cap..If there is no tank breather then you would use a vented cap...Simples...Ziga
So in theory then, using a vented cap on a vented tank would do no harm, but using a non vented cap on a non vented tank would be harmful, as the tank would not be able to breath.

Been on the hunt for one for ages! No luck so far unless you want to spend £60 or so
The one I'm after will cost £50 including postage. It's a good make and new. I will post a picture with it on the Wedge if I manage to get one and it fits.

I have 2 lockable ones on my wedge, I'm seriously thinking about taking them off, especially as one seems to have ceased, or gone VERY stiff at least, I don't think its anything drastic just not an easy fix with it on the car.

If I replace them with non-locking they might be up for grabs.

They are in an OK state but really could use a refirb

I believe your locking cap is the earlier lever flap type which will not fit the later Wedges like mine. We have an outer flap that goes over the cap. The cap I have sourced is an independent locking cap, genuine and made by Ceandess in Wolverhampton. I think for £50 including postage is not bad considering today's prices.

PS. There is a non locking chrome one available from the same people at £14.38
