Great British Sports car day - 27th July @ Castle Coombe

I'm intending on attending this.. sounds like it could be a good day. Just wondering if anyone else fancys joining me - would be good to get a group of wedges..

I've got the impression the £14 is for 3 Parade Laps, not actual racing round the track laps..

I have filled in the entry form and posted money off so I am confirmed going..
Going to Go-Pro the laps also which will provide some good footage

Hi all.

Well, Sunday was a fantastic day out.. I was one of over 260 classics on show ( reckon more turned up but lost count )
I had the 3 parade outings on the track ( total of 9 laps ) - tried to hang back a little from the car in front to give it some beans...

Because the normal noise restrictions didnt apply, there were some great cars hooning round the track.. TVR's / Cobra's / GT40's / a Lambo Countach replica / Astons / Jags / a single De Tomaso Pantera and Lotus's to name a few... The first group out on the track was the Cobra club - 25ish V8 Cobras !!! properly noisy !!

I was extreamly impressed with the handling of the 350i it has to be said. At no point did it feel like it was misbehaving more so than what the driver wanted

When I was browsing the chaps photos of the day sorting mine out before burning them to cd, he did comment.. "Mr Harris, you do look awfully serious, were you not enjoing yourself?"

I honestly didnt realise I was looking so serious - I was just concentrating on getting the racing line as much as pos and not spinning the car..

Next time I'll have my Concentration face on but with a smile. However, one of sheer terror might be fun
