Right with this not weather I have discovered that my fan has not been coming on, checked the fuse and it had melted, replaced it and the same thing has happened causing it to overheat and as you can guess in heavy traffic and me looking like a right arse. So any ideas as this has never happened to me before.

Right the fan is not jammed as I can move it freely with my hand, because I have had the car so long and never had this problem the fuse must be the same as fan. Possible that the fuse was not fully seated so will check that in the morning and hope that is it or it looks like something like a short. Again thanks for the speedy replies.

So i decided to replace the fuse with an existing 20amp fuse that i knew was ok then i took the connectors apart cleaned wd40 put them back together.there is a little round thingy that attaches to the top bolt that holds the fan with a wire that goes dont know were but the bit that attaches on to this was rusted so cleaned it up.The eart goes to the same point and it was rusty also so cleaned that up. Started the car got up to temp and fan kicked in as it should so i know it works switched engine off but kept ignition on for the fan and it ran until temp came down to normal.I hope its sorted but time will tell.

This is the said item. Fuse is a 20amp which is the right one.
