Adam, they were almost exactly the words I was going to post yesterday . There are parallels to the Austin Princess (looked more like a frog than a princess) and they both show how not to do a wedge design.
I shall check out the MR2 tip as they're everywhere here. Plus RT won't return my emails :-(
Then I need to start the quest for rear lights, well the nearside (kerb) one anyway... Capri Mk3 but similarly problematic to get in good cond, and not remanufactured from what I can see.
Thought: If an enterprising chinese factory set itself up to make hard to get classic car parts it would clean up!

Maybe success! One of the Ebayers has agreed to look into international postage for me, so I will see where that takes us. Thanks for the offers guys, that's what keeps these cars on the road!
Adam, I didn't even think of SD1s. I assume they fit then?
The 2.8i Capri never made it to Oz (nor the Granada) although the Essex engined Capri did, so no spares locally at all. Should be fun when I get to the cologne engine then...
