Well a few personal bits n bobs yesterday meaning I didn't get on the rolling road until today at Shropshire Automotive Services

Great weather, arrived at midday

Then it was time to strap the old girl down and see if we've got any issues

Mid range issues highlighted and after some digging and root cause analysis the injectors were identified as potential issues so time for a clean which means off with the plenum

Let the cleaning commence

Omg how much crud came out of these

Screw the lot back together cleaning and replacing any needy parts

Ok let's see what see'll do after all the tweaks :-)

Ear defenders needed to watch this!!!!!

And what did we get, 287.6 BHP at 5794 RPM with 281.3 ft lb at 4811 RPM.........very pleased with that and the drive home tonight was a real hoot

She pulls like a proper monster

Hugely impressed with the work MA did with Mike at SAS today

@wyn, indeed it is standard, so potential there if I needed / wanted

To say she did 293bhp back in 1993 after the rebuild dropping just a few ponies is not bad at all

The set up and throttle response now is savage it really is

@mark, may not have popped or banged in that video but on the road its like a gattling gun lol

All in all money well spent to fix the known issues that came with the car

One happy chappy :-)

Great result Glen. Looks like the trumpets are shortened, or is it an illusion? With BV heads and 4.5l you should definitely get some benefit from 45mm trumpets and a blended inlet manifold. You don't say whether the throttle body is standard (65mm IIRC) but if not, that also worth doing - typically go up to a 73mm throttle disc. All it takes is money!!
Howdy Paul

Good eyes, those trumpets are indeed shortened and another good spot on the throttle. It's the full fat NCK bored out version :-)
